PERFORMANCE EVALUATIONS:2015-2016 School Year performance evaluation goals are to be met in the areas of: Student Growth and Achievement; Organizational Leadership; District Operations and Financial Management; Communication and Community Relations.
2014-2015 School Year: The Board of School Directors conducted their annual evaluation of District Superintendent, Karen Jez. Ms. Jez has met each of the following performance standards: Student Growth and Achievement; Organizational Leadership; District Operations and Financial Management; Communication and Community Relations at the proficient or distinguished level and has satisfactorily completed the identified district goals at the proficient level with an overall year-end evaluation rating of Proficient for the 2014 – 2015 school year.
Karen began her teaching career as a substitute teacher in the mid 1980’s. Shortly thereafter she was hired as an art teacher by the Franklin and Valley Grove School District’s. While teaching, Karen became involved in leading many extra-curricular activities, including class advisor, coach, student assistance team and peer mentoring to mention just a few.
Karen was hired as an assistant principal at TMS in 1996 before moving on to become the Middle School Principal in 1998. She was instrumental in leading the development of a middle school program for the newly constructed middle school, which opened in 1999. The school has since become a model for middle schools across the Commonwealth.
After serving time as the assistant superintendent, in 2006, Karen accepted the position as Superintendent of Schools for Titusville where she has continued making her mark as a top quality school leader; not only locally, but across the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
In addition to her professional life, Karen is the Vice President of the State PARSS Board (Pennsylvania Rural and Small Schools Association); a member of the FORUM for the Superintendents’ of Western PA; and active with the PASA (Pennsylvania Association of School Administrators) Association’s professional development committee. Karen is also involved in numerous volunteer agencies in the community. She is currently a Board member for the United Way of the Titusville region; the President of the Titusville Regional Literacy Council; a member of the Titusville Rotary Club and its Foundation Chairperson.
She truly lives by her motto “Educating Children is the most important thing our Community does.”
