- Tuesday, October 27th - "Sock" it to Drugs Day - Students are asked to wear crazy or mismatched socks.
- Wednesday, October 28th - Red Ribbon Day - Everyone is asked to wear as much RED as possible.
- Thursday, October 29th - Pair Up Against Drugs Day - Everyone will be asked to pair up in doubles or groups and dress alike.

The school district is sponsoring a public meeting on Thursday, October 22, 2009 at 7:00 pm in the middle school cafeteria. At this meeting there will be local doctors, school and department of health officials providing detailed information regarding the recent concerns over the H1N1 Flu Virus and its impact on our community.
Parents and the public in attendance will be provided information on prevention and what to do if your child or someone in your household develops flu-like symptoms. District officials will also review with those in attendance what prevention measures have been undertaken and what the status of the receipt of the flu vaccinations is at this point.

On Wednesday, October 14, I went with a group of 23 other students to the convention center in Erie, to attend the GLITS program, or Great Lakes Industrial Technology Summit. The speaker at this cost-free event was internationally renowned Dr. Willard Daggett. He is the author of eight books as well as twelve textbooks. He has spoken in every state as well as in many countries across the globe. He also serves on the USA Today Educational Advisory Committee.
Though he speaks to groups of all ages, his audience here was students. He drew 890 students from all of the surrounding areas. He spoke on America as a whole while pitted up against the rest of the industrial world, and how today's youth must strive to keep employed in today's world.
