We are pleased to announce the Titusville Area School District newsletter School Matters was recently recognized by the Pennsylvania School Boards Association for its commitment toward keeping community members informed in regard to district-wide programs, activities, and events associated with the education of our students. As we celebrate the beginning of our twelfth year of School Matters, we would like to take a look back by spotlighting the district's many accomplishments over the past eleven years. Please take time to peruse the special commemorative insert located in the center of this newsletter.
Effective communication with our community members continues to be one of the district's top priorities. Along with this newsletter, which is published three times each year, the district also publishes an annual District Report Card, maintains an interactive website, and produces informational brochures and pamphlets on various district programs and initiatives. In addition, each school provides newsletters to parents and ongoing informational materials and announcements in regard to building specific programs, meetings, activities, and events. The district also utilizes an automated calling system to help keep parents informed of district events, their students' attendance, and emergency notifications on school delays and cancellations.
Through the recent collaborative efforts of community members, parents, students, and district representatives to develop the district's Strategic Plan 2008-2014, strengths and concerns were identified in order to help the district better serve our community and students. In order to maintain School Matters as an effective communication tool, we welcome your comments and suggestions for newsletter content. In addition, please share with us your thoughts or ideas that support the better operation of our schools. With concerted efforts, we can continue to provide educational excellence at Titusville Area School District.

After a long absence I am returning to my blog. Today all I have to offer is a teaser. We have exciting news that we will announce at the Florida reunion in February. All indications are that this will be the best attended reunion ever. Joel "Pug" Beason will once again serve as Master of Ceremonies. Beth Edgar and her helpers have been working hard to make this the best reunnion ever. Expect good food, lots of time to visit, short speeches and brief entertainment. How about contacting a friend and encourage them to come.
