Our new program, the Titusville Promise, has grown out of the realization that not all students have the financial capability to attend college and further their education. In today's changing society, we know that education is essential to success. In cooperation with the Titusville campus of the University of Pittsburgh , Titusville High School graduates who meet admission requirements will have scholarship support available through the Titusville Promise Foundation to allow them to attend college at Pitt Campus. Several steps have been taken toward the accomplishment of our goal. A steering committee comprised of community members has been working together to set the structure and intent of the Titusville Promise. We currently have our tax-exempt status and have implemented our funding strategy. The committee has worked closely with the University of Pittsburgh, at both the local and main campus levels, and has won its enthusiastic support of the program.
There is a strong correlation between the overall academic achievement of a community and its economic vitality and quality of life. The Titusville Promise will set us apart from other communities and will attract young families as well as new businesses to the area. With your generous support and the contributions of others, the Titusville Promise can be instrumental in helping to bring an attitude of optimism and possibilities to our community. Our hope is that after your review of the information enclosed, you will find the Titusville Promise a worthy endeavor and will join us in helping to insure a successful future for each of our participating students. Please contact us through the office of the Titusville Alumni Association with any questions you may have. We thank you for your consideration of our request. Sincere regards,The Titusville Promise Steering Committee |
