School News
Fourth Grade NAEP Notification
The fourth grade students at Main Street Elementary School have been selected to represent their peers across the nation by taking part in the National Assessment of Educational Progress (NAEP).  A letter has been mailed to parents and guardians of our fourth grade students.  The letter highlights the purpose of the assessment, and it also provides helpful internet resources so parents can acquire additional knowledge about the NAEP.  The assessment is scheduled to take place at Main Street Elementary School on February 17, 2015.  The NAEP informational letter can also be viewed from Main Street School's webpage.  Click on the link above the December calendar and newsletter.
Veterans Day Luncheon
The annual Veteran's Day Luncheon was held at Main Street School on Tuesday, November 11, 2014.  Fifth grade students invited family members who have served, or  currently serve, in the armed forces to Main Street School for lunch followed by a question and answer discussion.
Skating in PE
The second grade students at Main Street Elementary have two special PE classes this month.  With help from Julie Cauvel from The Rink, Mr. Carr's PE students were able to skate around the yellow cones in the gymnasium using skates that Mrs. Cauvel loaned to the school.  The smile on their faces was enough to make you realize the students enjoyed every second of their class.  The next skating session is set for November 5th.  Thank you Mr. Carr, Mrs. Cauvel and The Rink!!
Apple Crunch Day
On Friday, October 24, 2014, the students, faculty, and staff of Main Street Elementary celebrated National Apple Crunch Day.  At precisely 11 a.m., everyone in the school "crunched" into--what this year was--a green apple!
Local Elks Donate Dictionaries
The Local Order of the Titusville Elks, #264, recently presented dictionaries to the third grade students of Mrs. Martin and Mrs. Clark.  The students were extremely happy to receive their own dictionary.  Each student expressed their appreciation and sent hand-written thank you notes to the Elks Club members.
