It is with great pleasure that I share the great news,
that Jennifer Sampson was recognized with the Golden Apple Teacher
Recognition award. Jennifer was nominated by two of her students, Kyler
Madden and Jackson Oviatt. It was a great surprise for Jen and watching
her students enjoy this recognition was priceless. Just a quick fact,
this is Jen's second Golden Apple award. She received the first
award while teaching at Pleasantville about 20 years ago. What an honor
for Jen and our district!

We are nominating our teacher, Mrs. Jen Sampson, for the Golden Apple Award this year because she is an amazing teacher and a fantastic person. She had dyed her hair pink last year because we had amazing PSSA scores. Every day she would come to school and greet you with a big smile on her face. She made a big impact on our lives. She’s not the kind of teacher who just shows it to us; she breaks it down for us so we can understand it better. This year she was diagnosed with breast cancer; this diagnosis doesn’t stop her from caring about us and being the best teacher she can be. Even though it is hard for her to come to school, she still tries her best to be there for us. She is truly a gift to us, and we want to show her how much we care. We are not the only ones who care - it’s our whole school. When we found out the news of her diagnosis, the school came together and supported her. We all have pink bracelets that read “you are not in this alone” that we wear to let her know that we are here for her too. Mrs. Sampson is a hard working teacher and does everything she can to support us and make us laugh a little. She does everything with a smile on her face. She makes learning fun and interesting! She is so special to us and she deserves this award and so much more. Please consider the Golden Apple Award for our teacher, Mrs. Sampson, the most amazing teacher!
