To answer some of your questions as quickly as possible, we’ve compiled a list of those most frequently asked by TASD parents.

How do I enroll my child in one of the Titusville ASD schools?

We are thrilled to welcome new members to our community! Please visit our Enrollment page for information about enrolling your child into one of our schools. You may also download and print a copy of the registration forms and bring the completed forms, together with the required documentation, to the main office of the school your child will attend.

Does your school offer breakfast and lunch?

We operate an excellent nutrition program at each campus. Our cafeterias serve breakfast and lunch every school day without cost to the students. For more information, please see our district Food Services page.

What if my child requires medication during the school day?

We will administer medication in accordance with state regulations and with physician and parental approval. Please complete our medication authorization form, and bring medications in the original, labeled packaging to the front office. See the Health Services page for more information.

Do you provide transportation services?

We are pleased to provide our students with safe, reliable transportation to and from school each day. Bus riding is a privilege, and we expect all students to adhere to the rules for their own safety as well as for the safety of others. What is PowerSchool and how do I get a username and password to use it?

PowerSchool is just another way we keep communication between home and school strong. It provides you with almost real-time access to your child’s grades, attendance history, and other important information. To receive your log-in information, please call the front office.

What do I need to do if my child will be absent from school?

Regular attendance and promptness are vital to student success. Frequent absences result in poor achievement, even if a student is conscientious about making up work. If your child must miss school, please call the school office on the day of his/her absence. For information about attendance requirements and what qualifies as an excused absence, please refer to our student handbook.

What if my child needs to leave school early?

When a student must be excused from school for a funeral or doctor or dentist appointment, students must present a written excuse from their parent or guardian, with the reason and the telephone number of the office where the appointment is to be held, to his first-period teacher so that the appointment is registered on the daily bulletin.

Do you enforce a dress code?

We allow students reasonable freedom in dress and adornment; however, we will impose restrictions whenever a student's mode of dress is, in our professional, certified opinion, unsafe or disruptive to school operations and the educational process. This includes any apparel that suggests any affiliation or membership in any group or organization that advocates illegal or inappropriate activities. We expect students to follow the dress code for school events such as concerts and banquets and that they meet any additional requirements of the instructor/advisor.

What is the cell phone/mobile device policy at TASD?

Mobile devices are powerful communication tools. To completely ban mobile devices from the classroom is to cut students off from the very world for which we are preparing them; however, mobile devices can also be a classroom distraction. Therefore, there are some rules. For more information, please see the student handbook.

K4–8 students may use mobile devices, with the exception of cell phones. We do not permit cell phone use during school hours. If they take one to school, it must remain inside the student's locker or backpack and be shut off. Students may use other mobile devices such as personal digital e-readers, tablets, and laptops for instructional purposes only.

Here are the rules for high school students:

  • When using mobile devices to access the internet, students must connect using the TASD network.
  • Mobile devices must be on vibrate.
  • Mobile devices need to stay in pockets or backpacks until it is time to use them.
  • Mobile devices can only be used in class for academic/learning purposes.
  • Any activity conducted on mobile devices in class cannot be published without permission of the teacher and/or students who are involved in the text/image/video/audio file (i.e., no publishing a photo of a class project on any social networking site without permission).
  • Students will use appropriate mobile device etiquette by respecting the privacy of others’ device numbers and using appropriate language with their mobile communication.

Will my child have access to the internet while on campus?

Students can access the internet for homework and school-related research from our computer lab, library, and some classrooms under the supervision of qualified school personnel. We expect our students to behave responsibly on school computer networks.

May my high schooler drive to and from school?

Yes, but please be aware that school parking lots are reserved for faculty, staff, and visitors during school hours. Students must park their cars on the street. Remember, the safe and drug free school zone extends 1000 feet from the school in every direction.

How can I get more involved?

We strongly encourage your involvement. Please take the time to introduce yourself to your child’s teacher and let him or her know that you’re interested in getting involved. We also invite you to join the PTG at your school and make your voice heard! Parents can also support their child’s education in some basic ways, including:

  • encouraging your child to get plenty of sleep; 
  • offering a healthy diet, including a good breakfast (or getting your child to school early enough to eat breakfast in our cafeteria);
  • helping your child get up in plenty of time for school; and
  • providing neat, clean, comfortable clothes.
