What is TASD Transition Team?
Transitioning to new roles in life can be difficult for individuals. This is especially true for those individuals that are graduating high school and entering the adult world. This difficulty can be compounded by a disability or some other barrier to the workforce or gaining further education.
This is where the Titusville Area School Districts Transition Team steps in. The Transition Team assists in coordinating with outside agencies to assist individuals in connecting with outside agencies and services to help. One of those agencies is the Office of Vocational Rehabilitation (OVR). OVR’s mission is to provide vocational rehabilitation services to help persons with disabilities prepare for, obtain, or maintain employment. OVR provides services to eligible individuals with disabilities, both directly and through a network of approved vendors. In high school, students have a guidance counselor to assist them in making school choices, but after high school, OVR becomes that guidance piece in employment. Other agencies that can assist adults with disabilities are Venango County Human Services, Crawford County Human Services, and Forrest Warren County Human Services.
